The device consists of a trocar obturator and a cannula system that allows surgeons to introduce laparoscopic instruments into the abdominal cavity while preserving pneumoperitoneum. It functions as an access channel through the abdominal wall, enabling the insertion and removal of surgical instruments during operative procedures.

This trocar features a bladeless, atraumatic dilating tip designed to separate tissue layers instead of cutting through them.
